Contrast is an image enhancement application that lets you quickly clean up scanned images.
When scanning documents, the quality of the captured image is often not good enough - the background is grayish or yellowish and there are dark areas around the edges of the image. Contrast uses a special algorithm to improve image quality and produces images with a uniform white background, while removing unwanted dark areas and artifacts.
Contrast can produce great results from images captured with a scanner, as well as a digital camera or smartphone. It can be very quick and convenient to take a picture of a document with a camera when there is no scanner at hand, and then use Contrast to improve the quality of the image so that it can be printed.
We especially recommend using Contrast if you intend to print the scanned images, as it produces much whiter images which results in lower ink usage.
